:: Purification Gem No. 3: The Purification of Body and Soul ::

Tuesday, Mar. 12, 2024

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

Ya Ali Madad and Ramadan Mubarak! This post for this auspicious third night of Holy Ramadan has five parts:

  1. A gem of knowledge from Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, or "Advices of Manliness" of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II;
  2. A verse from the beautiful ginan of Sayyed Imamshah;
  3. A dhikr tasbi for this night;
  4. Angelic salwat which is the anchor tasbi for the project; and
  5. Global Prayers and Three Grand Aspirations.

Part 1: Teaching of Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.)
In Pir Pandiyat-i Jawanmardi, Imam NOOR Mowlana Shah Mustansir bi'l-laah II (a.s.) teaches us about the purification of body and soul:
"The one who obeys the orders and words of the Imam has all his limbs purified, and he who has found the way to the Imam, and resigned himself in the obedience of his command, —his soul becomes clean, and his spirit good. But if one knows nothing of the Imam, or denies his existence, or does not accept the Imamat of the Imam, or nourishes doubt as to his Imamat, he will become like the one who is continuously in a state of ritual uncleanliness. Therefore, seek refuge with God from those who do not accept this and believe in shari'at which has reduced (cleanliness) to those outer ablutions while overlooking the inner self. For both the body and the soul must be purified." (p.61)

Part 2: Teaching of Sayyed Imamshah
The following verse of ginan is taken from Sayyed Imamshah's Hetesu(n) milo maara munivaro. Constant remembrance of our present and living NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam is necessary because His Holy Name can bring us peace, prosperity, happiness, barakat, Light and the inner vision of the truth!

Verse 4 recited by Alwaez Rai Shamsuddin Bandali Haji

Eji Paak to Sahebji-nu(n) naam chhe
Tene jampiye saas usaas
Dur ma dekho dil maa(n)he vase
Jem champa ful maa(n)he vaas

O Brother: The Name (or Word, Command) of the Imam is holy and true.
Remember it upon every breath.
Do not regard (the Lord) as being remote.
He is present in the heart
like the presence of the fragrance in a flower.

Part 3: Dhikr Section:

The significance of the four phrases of the Holy Prophet's tasbi are explained in the following hadith:

Ibn Mas'ud reported God's messenger as saying he met Abraham on the night he was taken up to heaven, and he said, "Convey my greeting to your people, Muhammad, and tell them that paradise has good soil and sweet water, that it consists of level, treeless plains, and that its plants are 'Glory be to God' (Subhan Allah); 'Praise be to God' (Al-Hamdu Lillah); 'There is no god but God' (La ilaha illa-llah); and 'God is most great' (Allahu Akbar)'." Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying that is a hasan tradition whose isnad is gharib.
