Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam's Birthday:
A Time to Reflect on the Presence of the Holy Imam on this Earth
Salgirah Mubarak! Alwaez Rai Amiraly Amlani graciously prepared a festival card for this occasion in 2003 and I have used it again to illustrate the fundamental concept of Imamat and perpetual guidance. Please reflect on the Hadith of the our Holy Prophet on the festival card and just assess where would we be without the guidance and vision of a present and living Holy Imam? May NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam and the Noorani family be blessed with peace, prosperity and happiness. Ameen.
Qazi No'man lived in the time of Imam Al-Moizo-le-dinillah (a.s.). The No'man family played a great part in enriching the Fatmide period with their intellectual wealth. The gifted family has left behind books on the Fatmide period which were used as models by almost all the religious divines of the period and later writers. The writings of the family of No'man up to this day are considered to be the most authoritative information on the Fatmide Faith. Here is his assessment of the favours of the Holy Imams upon us. The excerpt is from 'Majlis 8: To Thank the Imam in Weal or Woe' from his book 'Code of Conduct for the followers of Imam':
"Let us make a short survey of their favours on us. We were ignorant of everything and were spiritually dead. They brought us back to life and showed us the path of wisdom. We were blind, they gave us the eyes to see for ourselves what is right and what is wrong. We were groping in the dark, they showed us the light. We had lost the track, they showed us the way to salvation. We were lacking in knowledge, they gave us knowledge. We were falling in hell-fire, they picked us up and put us in the middle of righteous. In short, they gave done us the favours which we cannot count. They have given us all that is good in this world and the world to come."
Let us offer gratitude to the present and living Holy Imam and recite a bouquet of salwats to strengthen our knowledge (ilm) and faith (iman). May NOOR Mowlana increase our conviction to become true Ismaili Muslims.
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
