"And We verily gave Moses and Aaron the Criterion (of right and wrong) and a light and a Reminder for those who keep from evil." — Holy Qur'an 21:48
Gems from Pir Hasan Kabirdin's Moti Venti and NOOR Mowlana Murtaza Ali (a.s.)'s Nahjul Balagha (2)
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
Ya Ali Madad! This post for the second day of Baitul Khayal Satado has two gems of knowledge: a verse from Moti Venti and a saying of NOOR Mowlana Murtaza Ali (a.s.).
Part 1: Teaching of Pir Hasan Kabirdin
Let us begin with the eighth verse of Moti Venti in which Pir Hasan Kabirdin presents the concepts of hope and forgiveness.
Eji | hêl bhari sâmi amê âviyâ sâmi amâri hêl utâro rakhê pâchhi hêl fêravo bakhsho dosh hamara mahêr karo morâ sâ(n)hiyâ abarâ sharan tamâri |

0 Lord, | I have come with my soul (symbolized by water-pot) with the fullest hope, and with the plea to accept the wishes of my soul and fulfill my desires. Let not my soul (water-pot) be rejected, (i.e. union denied). 0 Lord, forgive my short comings.
Have mercy on me, my Lord. |

Part 2: Saying of NOOR Mowlana Murtaza Ali (a.s.)
All the Prophets, Pirs, Daa-ee and great momins in search of Light (Noor) have used the technique of supplication to come closer to He who is above all else. Supplication is the language of the soul and is used to generate hope, seek mercy and ask for forgiveness. Hope brings courage, increases patience and builds endurance to stay on the right path. Sins create obstacles for our souls. Therefore, it is a duty upon all the lovers of Light (Noor) to seek forgiveness with the intention of not committing the same sins again. These concepts were also taught by NOOR Mowlana Murtaza Ali (a.s.)1:
"I want to teach you five such things which deserve your greatest anxiety to acquire:
- Have hope in God and none else;
- Be afraid of nothing but sins;
- If you do not know a thing, never feel ashamed to admit ignorance;
- If you do not know a thing, never hesitate or feel ashamed to learn it;
- Acquire patience and endurance, because their relation with true faith is that of a head to a body; a body is of no use without a head, similarly true faith is of no use without attributes of resignation, endurance and patience."
