2017 — The Year for Higher Spiritual Enlightenment

Diamond Jubilee Spark :: Timeless Batini-Noorani Didar Preparation Gems for the Global Jamat

Enlightenment Post No. 23 :: Knowledge & Prayers for Advancement

Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.

Ya Ali Madad! The launch of Diamond Jubilee year of Noor Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini Hazar Imam (a.s.) is only 60 days away. To keep up with the momentum, here is another enlightenment post to increase our knowledge and enhance our yearning through Dhikr and Angelic Salwat. This enlightenment post has a dhikr track titled, 'Noore Karim, Ya Rabb' because the divine name Lord (Rabb) alludes to the divine root of the existent things, since God is the "Lord" of all.

Knowledge Section:
Since its inception in 1999, SalmanSpiritual.Com has been providing knowledge and wisdoms on the esoteric dimension of the Ismaili Faith. Our focus has been inward and luminous, i.e. on the Batuni and Noorani dimensions of Holy Faith. This is in full compliance of the firmans of Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam in which he has opened the door of personal search for all his murids and mu'mins. The '2017 — The Year for Higher Spiritual Enlightenment' motto was published in Candle Post No. 138 on January 1, 2017 and the first Enlightenment Post was published on January 9, 2017. All Enlightenment Posts and the associated PDF versions are archived and readily available on SalmanSpiritual.com.

Objective:
We believe in the zahir and batin aspects of our being. Thus, the preparation for a Batini-Noorani didar of Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam is a perpetual activity. SalmanSpiritual.com is pleased to present 'Timeless Batini-Noorani Didar Preparation Gems for the Global Jamat' as a resource for higher spiritual enlightenment for the Global Jamat on this auspicious night of 15 Shaban 1438, which is the Muslim festival of Laylat al-Barâ'ah ("Night of Forgiveness")(in Arabic) and Shab-e Barat in Iran and India.

Methods:
The search for higher spiritual enlightenment is a package deal. This means that a number of Tariqah practices have to undertaken and integrated. For example, just performing bandagi (meditation) or just performing unconditional volunteer service is not enough. In my opinion, ten different activities have to be integrated.

In order to understand this, let us take an analogy of building a house. Since kindergarten, we have been drawing diagrams of houses. As we grow up, we understand how houses are built and how different systems get integrated. Now let us think of a different type of a house. How about building a spiritual house? It is spiritual but not physical. It is a house in which Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam can spiritually visit and/or stay. This has stimulated a chain of thoughts and insights, and has led to integration of a body of knowledge. For the spiritual house we need: (1) a foundation; (2) a structure consisting a frame, walls, doors, etc.; (3) a roof; and (4) a potential for a future expansion. All the associated systems have to be integrated in each of these components.

I have provided concise definitions for the ten components in the first 4 paragraphs of this post. May I suggest that you take 'Higher Spiritual Enlightenment Indicators' self-assessment test to qualitatively measure your own preparedness, engagement and desire for many possible Holy Batini-Noorani Didars of Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam during the Diamond Jubilee year? The score could be a benchmark to monitor your progress as you prepare for the launch of the Diamond Jubilee year.

Procedures:
I have researched the background for each component and have produced a web page for each item. These resources are accessible through the associated hyperlinks. I welcome you to gain knowledge and boost your aspiration to invite Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam to come and visit, as well as stay within your spiritual heart.

  1. The Foundation of the Spiritual House

The foundation of the spiritual house is based on the first four items in the list. These are (1) staunch faith in the Holy Imam, (2) sincere repentance, (3) submission of dasond in full and on time, and (4) reciting Dua at sacred times in the morning and the evening, preferably in Jamat Khana. We need to be certain that our foundation is strong and if there are any cracks in it, then this is a good time to fix them. If you need more information about these items, please follow the following links:

01Holy Batini-Noorani Didar and Iman (Faith)
02Holy Batini-Noorani Didar and Tauba (Sincere Repentance)
03Holy Batini-Noorani Didar and the Submission of Dasond (Tithe)
04Holy Batini-Noorani Didar and Recitation of Holy Dua at Sacred Times
  2. The Walls, Doors and Windows of the Spiritual House

The walls of the spiritual house are based on the next five items in the list. These are (1) bandagi (luminous mediation), (2) giriyah-u zâri (supplication), (3) dhikr (Divine remembrance), (4) Performing Seva (Voluntary Service); and (5) Being Imam Conscious & Ethical. We need to be certain that the walls of our spiritual house are strong and of even height so that a roof can be placed on the structure. This raises the question of balance and the need of a multi-prong approach so that all the five walls get built simultaneously.

Our day has to be organized according to an Ismaili lifestyle in which bandagi gets performed first and then the remaining activities follow. As the walls of spiritual house can have doors and windows, it is possible to experience happiness, inner peace and get rays of light inside our spiritual house (personal world). The walls also permit us to have a sacred space within ourselves. As we intensify our preparation for a Holy Batini-Noorani Didar, it is important to check and fix for any cracks in the 'walls'. If you need more information about these items, please follow the following links:

05Holy Batini-Noorani Didar and the Practice of Bandagi (Luminous Dhikr)
06Holy Batini-Noorani Didar and Giriyah-u zâri by reciting supplications from the Holy Qur'an, Holy Ginans, Qasidas and Geets
07Holy Batini-Noorani Didar and performance of Dhikr to Purify the Spiritual Heart
08Holy Batini-Noorani Didar and Performing Seva (Voluntary Service)
09Holy Batini-Noorani Didar and Being Imam Conscious & Ethical
  3. The Roof of the Spiritual House

As the final destination of our spiritual journey is the recognition of the Light of Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam in our foreheads, it is important to think about the transparent, colored glass roof with a dome for our spiritual house. This design would fully absorb the luminous rays of the Noor of Mowlana Hazar Imam from all directions.

Spiritual experiences such as tears of love for Mowla, goosebumps, shivering, shaking and fragrances are signs that the soul is being purified. Let us hope some or all of these happen in our personal search. In addition to this, for the perfected ones, there will be the didar of Light in the forehead. Let us hope and pray that this also happens at the advances stage of our personal search. Please follow the following link for more information about the recognition of the Light of the Holy Imam:

10Holy Batini-Noorani Didar and the Recognition of the Light of the Holy Imam

Now let us reflect deeply on the following wish of Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam:

"I give to you once again, each one of you, my most affectionate blessings, my most affectionate blessings. Take them with you for yourselves, your families, your Jamats and I hope you will have sunshine in your hearts. Khanavadan, Khanavadan, Khanavadan."
  4. The Expansion of our Spiritual House (Real Heart, Consciousness)

The fully expanded hearts of the Holy Prophets and the Holy Imams are full of spirituality and luminosity because the whole universe in a subtle form in present in their personal worlds as explained in Enlightenment Post No. 20. If a mu'min follows in the footsteps of the Holy Prophets and Holy Imams, then the treasuries of spiritual and luminous worlds also open up. Therefore, a person with an expanded heart experiences a Golden Noorani Didar in the forehead and gets numerous opportunities to present spiritual and luminous nazranas (gifts) to his beloved NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam. Let us hope that this also happens during the Diamond Jubilee year.

  5. Higher Spiritual Enlightenment Indicators

Indicator No. 1: Creating Staunch Faith in the Holy Imam

Now it is the time to conduct a self assessment by answering the following question:

At its highest level, faith is or becomes light ('Iman Noor chhe'; Source: Ruhani Raaz Gujrati firman book, p. 59), and is given a rating of 10, and not having faith in the Holy Imam at all is rated as zero, where do I stand?

If the answer is less than 10, that means that there is room for improvement. If once practices our Holy faith with conviction, then the score can improve over days, weeks or months!

    Indicator No. 2: Sincere Repentance

Now it is the time to conduct a self assessment by answering the following question:

If the sincere repentance of our Holy Prophets and Holy Pirs (weeping over sins and taking a vow not to commit the same sins again) is given a rating of 10, and not repenting at all is rated as zero, where do I stand?

If the answer is less than 10, that means that there is room for improvement. This is a very important matter because if it is left undone, the weight of the sins exceeds the weight of good deeds from the perspective of the soul. This leads to darkness.

Indicator No. 3: Submission of Dasond

Now it is the time to conduct a self assessment by answering the following question:

If the submission of dasond in full and on time is given a rating of 10, and not submitting dasond at all is rated as zero, where do I stand?

If the answer is less than 10, that means that there is room for improvement. Dasond is the foundation of our faith. This is the reason we pray continually to be staunch in this practice.

Indicator No. 4: Reciting the Holy Dua On Time With Congregation, i.e. in Jamat Khana, in the Morning and the Evening

Now it is the time to conduct a self assessment by answering the following question:

If the recitation of the Holy Dua at the sacred time with the congregation, i.e., in Jamat Khana, both in the morning and the evening, is given a rating of 10, and not reciting Dua at all is rated as zero, where do I stand?

If the answer is less than 10, that means that there is room for improvement. If one develops conviction, the score can improve over days, weeks or months!

Indicator No. 5: Practising Bandagi for Higher Spiritual Enlightenment Every Morning

Now it is the time to conduct a self assessment by answering the following question:

If practising bandagi for higher spiritual enlightenment every morning is given a rating of 10, and not practising bandagi at all is rated as zero, where do I stand?

Let us all intensify our personal search for higher spiritual enlightenment through the practice of bandagi as we approach the Darbar in Canada!

Please reflect deeply on the following excerpt of Baitul Firman of Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam made in 1966 during his visit to East Africa:

"It is, therefore, through Noor of Ali, Noor of Imamat that you must seek to come closer, to have a better understanding of He who is above all else. This is the meaning of Bandagi, that is the meaning of Baitul Khayal."

Indicator No. 6: Practising Giryah-u zâri by Reciting Supplications From the Holy Qur'an, Holy Ginans, Qasidas and Geets, and Shedding Tears of Love and Gratitude to the Holy Imam With Utmost Humility

Now it is the time to conduct a self assessment by answering the following question:

If shedding tears of love for beloved Mowla given a rating of 10, and not shedding tears of love at all is rated as zero, where do I stand?

Let us all intensify our Giryah-u zâri for higher spiritual enlightenment as we approach the launch of the Diamond Jubilee year!

The ultimate purpose of giryah-u z—ri is tied first to the purification of the soul and creation of humility, followed by the manifestation of higher spirituality within the personal world which empowers the mu'min to use the positive spiritual and luminous energy to serve humanity.

Click here to find ways to improve your knowledge and score on this indicator! Also, please re-assess your score after you have read the contents of the above-mentioned web page.

Indicator No. 7: Practising Dhikr in Order to Present Spiritual and Luminous Nazranas

In his firman to the Canadian Jamat in 2005, NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam bestowed the dua for sunshine in our hearts. This can be achieved if our hearts reach a state of constant dhikr. Dhikr can empower a mumin to submit spiritual and luminous nazranas to our beloved NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam. A Spiritual Nazrana takes the form of a pure golden heart which is in a state of constant dhikr while a Luminous Nazrana takes the form of a sound golden heart (qalb-i salim) which is in a state of constant dhikr and enlightenment.

Now it is the time to conduct a self assessment by answering the following question:

If the state of constant dhikr given a rating of 10, and not performing dhikr at all is rated as zero, where do I stand?

Let us all intensify our dhikr as we approach the Darbars in Canada!

Click here to find ways to improve your knowledge and score on this indicator! Also, please re-assess your score after you have read the contents of the above-mentioned web page.

Indicator No. 8: Performing Voluntary Service for the Holy Imam, His Jamat and His Institutions

In his firman to the Edmonton Jamat on April 24, 1983, NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam said:

"In our Jamat, for centuries, there has been the most admirable tradition of service and this tradition has existed in times of happiness, in times of difficulty and it has been a fundamental pillar in our Jamat, that is, that the spirit of Muslim brotherhood should be made evident, not only in treating each man and each woman as a brother but demonstrating that brotherhood by rendering service, service without remuneration, without recognition, without titles, without social status, simply rendering service."

Now it is the time to conduct a self assessment by answering the following question:

If performing voluntary service with a pure heart for the sake of serving only (i.e., service without remuneration, without recognition, without titles, without social status) is given a rating of 10, and not performing voluntary service at all is rated as zero, where do I stand?

Let us all intensify our voluntary service as we approach the Diamond Jubilee year!

Click here to find ways to improve your knowledge and score on this indicator! Also, please re-assess your score after you have read the contents of the above-mentioned web page.

Indicator No. 9: Being Imam Conscious & Ethical

In his firman to the Bombay Jamat on November 27, 1973, NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam said:

"...That you should have pure souls and clean hearts is fundamental to you, but it is also as fundamental to the Jamat – fundamental in the sense that you will live cleanly, properly and as you should in relation to your families, your Jamats and the country in which you are living. And if you fulfill your material responsibilities and you are ethical in your material lives, it will improve the general condition of the Jamat and it will improve yourselves. Because he who cheats, he who lies, he who behaves in an immoral manner, what is he doing? He is harming not only himself but also the Jamat. And I want you to be well aware that in fulfilling your spiritual and your physical or material responsibilities as you should, you are not only improving your own personal condition but you are improving that of the Jamat as a whole."

Now it is the time to conduct a self assessment by answering the following question:

If perfect taqwa (i.e., a completely purified heart in which the Supreme Name of God is repeating itself continuously and is perfectly Imam conscious) is given a rating of 10, and not having taqwa at all is rated as zero, where do I stand?

Let us all intensify the practice of taqwa as we approach the Darbars in Canada!

Click here to find ways to improve your knowledge and score on this indicator! Also, please re-assess your score after you have read the contents of the above-mentioned web page.

Indicator No. 10: Recognizing the Light of the Holy Imam

In his firman to the Karachi Jamat on December 25, 1964, NOOR Mowlana Hazar Imam said:

"...I pray specially that you should be very strong in your faith, that you should be strong in your understanding the Batuni side of your faith and that above all each and every one of you should have the true spiritual happiness which will be yours if you are able once in your life time to have Noor of Imamat in your hearts."

Now it is the time to conduct a self assessment by answering the following question:

If carrying the Light of Imamat in our foreheads is given a rating of 10, and not do so at all is rated as zero, where do I stand?

Let us fulfill the wish of Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam when he last visited us in 2005. At that time, on June 8, 2005 in Toronto, he said the following to the Canadian and International Jamats: "I give to you once again, each one of you, my most affectionate blessings, my most affectionate blessings. Take them with you for yourselves, your families, your Jamats and I hope you will have sunshine in your hearts. Khanavadan, Khanavadan, Khanavadan."

Click here to find ways to improve your knowledge and score on this indicator! Also, please re-assess your score after you have read the contents of the above-mentioned web page.

Shukranlillah wal hamdulillah! I bow my head, soul and intellect to Noor Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini Hazar Imam (a.s.) for sending spiritual and luminous tayid for developing' Higher Spiritual Enlightenment Indicators' self-assessment test! All praise is due to the Holy Imam, the Lord of the present and the eternal time (Sahebiz-zamani wal asr)!

  6. Conclusion:
  7. In preparation for the many Batini-Noorani Didars during the Diamond Jubilee, let us practise our faith with conviction by attending Jamat Khana regularly; submitting dasond; saying three Duas on time; practising bandagi because it is a luminous prayer; reciting angelic salwats, Holy Ginans, Qasidas and Geets; performing abundant dhikr; performing volunteer service; balancing din and duniya; being Imam conscious and ethical; and by accumulating material, spiritual and luminous nazranas in our personal worlds. The search for Light, with the foundational pillar of dhikr, is and should be our primary objective. May Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam fill our spiritual hearts with his NOOR and nothing else! Ameen.

Dhikr Section: New Luminous Dhikr Titled Noore Karim, Ya Rabb
In the firman made on December 13, 1964 in Karachi, Noor Mowlana Hazar Imam said that 'his Noor has indicated to you where and in which direction you must turn, so as to obtain spiritual and material satisfaction'. I have taken this firman to my heart and am now doing dhikrs which call on the Noor directly because in my heart, Noor Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini (a.s.) is the pillar of Light and is represented by the words 'Noore Karim' in the dhikrs. I firmly hold on to this luminous pillar in my dhikr of Noore Karim, Ya Rabb. Let us perform the luminous dhikr of Noore Karim, Ya Rabb with utmost humility and tenderness of the heart (length 2 min 22 sec; 3.3 MB). The lyrics for the 40 beads are given below:

    Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

    Noore Karim, Ya Rabb
With the wasila of Noore Karim, I call upon the Lord (Rabb)

    Recited by Noorallah Juma

    Al-hamdu lillahi rabbil 'alamin.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!

    Reaffirmation of Baiyat:
Let us also reaffirm our baiyat to our Holy Imam, NOOR Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini Hazar Imam by reciting the Shahada from the second part of our Holy Dua:

"La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur-Rasoolullah, 'Aliyyun Amirul-Mu'mineen 'Aliyullah
Mowlana Shah Karim ul Hussaini, Al-Imamul Hazarul Maujood."

"There is no deity except Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, 'Ali - the master of believers - is from Allah. Our Lord Shah Karim Al-Hussaini is our present and living Imam"

    Angelic Salwat Nazrana:
Let us now start presenting a nazrana of at least 101 salwats or continuous salwat for 3 to 5 minutes to our beloved NOOR Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini Hazar Imam for the fulfillment of our noble wishes. May our beloved Mowla continually keep us on the Right Path. Ameen.

    Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Allâhumâ salli alâ Muhammadin wa âle Muhammad:
O Allah! Bestow Peace on and through Muhammad and his Descendants

    Recited by Noorallah Juma

    Al-hamdu lillahi rabbil 'alamin.
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds!

May NOOR Mowlana Shah Karim Al-Hussaini Hazar Imam (a.s.) grant peace, prosperity, happiness, barakat, higher spiritual enlightenment, spiritual & luminous tayid (help) and empowerment to you, your family, your Jamat and the worldwide Jamat! Ameen.
