Qur'anic Treasures hidden in Surah Falaq (The Daybreak) (Holy Qur'an 113:1-5)

In this post, let us study the wisdoms (tawils) for Surah Falaq, Surah No. 113 of the Holy Qur'an. The audio, transliteration and translation of this Surah is as follows:

Part 1: Wisdoms from the first ayat

"In the Suratu'l Falaq, first comes the word "qul" (say!), which is mentioned 332 times in the Glorious Qur'an. This is a special command of God, because in it He addresses the Holy Prophet: O Prophet! tell the people personally and also through other means. That whatever the Holy Prophet presented to the people during his pure life, by words and deeds, is under the Divine command "qul". Further, the execution of this command also continues through the two important things (i.e., the Holy Qur'an and the speaking, present and living Imam of the Age), which the Prophet has left for the sake of guidance.

Then there is the word "a'udhu (I seek refuge)", in which is sought for three things: first, the intention; second, the speech; and third, the action. And the most successful form of refuge for all of these is possible in the light of knowledge and ma'rifat (recognition of the Light of God) for without faith and certainty, intellect and wisdom, it is not possible to reach the refuge of God by escaping every kind of evil and to protect oneself there.

Then come the words "Bi-Rabbi'l-falaq (with the Lord of dawn)". That is, I seek refuge in the presence of the Lord of the pre-eternal dawn (subh-i azal). Although there are many dawns, the most worthy mentioning and extremely marvellous, is the one which dawn with the rise of the pre-eternal light (nur-i azal). For the true protection of God is attained by a fortunate servant at the stage where he comes annihilated in God (fana fi'llah). At this stage he observes the secrets of pre-eternity and post-eternity together."

Part 2: Wisdoms from the second ayat

" "Min sahhri ma khalaq (from the evil which is created)". In this verse, to take refuge from all evils, is mentioned tersely. That is to say, what is mentioned in detail in the Suratul-Falaq and Suratu'n-Naas is summarized in the above-mentioned two verses. From the preceding, it is evident that it is the falaq, namely spirituality and the dawn (light) of pre-eternity, which erases the darkness of all evils and puts an end to them."

Part 3: Wisdoms from the third ayat

" "Wa min sharri ghasiqin idah waqab (and from the evil of the dark night when it overspreads". Ghasiq is an active principle which means that which spreads darkness. By this is meant a person who spreads darkness of ignorance. Such a person is more dangerous than the dark night. For the more the good is in knowledge and wisdom, the more evil is in ignorance. Thus, according to the law of seeking refuge, it is necessary and essential to escape the ignorant and the ignorance and seek God's refuge. "

Part 4: Wisdoms from the fourth ayat

" "Wa min sharri'n-naffathatti fil-uqad (and from the evil of those (women) who blow on knots)". The tawil of this is that Lord of command (sahib-i amr), with respect to religion and imparting knowledge, is in the rank of man and the rest are in the rank of woman (See Wajh-i Din, chapter 46). Just as in witchcraft women blow on knots and bewitch people, the ulama (learned) opponents of the Lord of command, who as women in religion, muddle the simple teachings of religion and make complicated issues out of them, and by doing so they intend that the people be compelled to believe that it is only they who know the solution of such knotty issues and thus they lead people astray from the recognition of the true Imam. This from the evil of these religious bewitchers also, refuge must sough in the light of Imamat."

Part 5: Wisdoms from the fifth ayat

" "Wa min-sharri haasidin 'izaa hasad (And from the evil of the envier when he envies". That is, when the Prophet or the true Imam successfully guides mu'mins in the illumination of the light of guidance, then their enemies envy them and use every kind of deceit and trick. At such times which are extremely dangerous, mu'mins should also seek refuge in the guidance of the light of Imamat from its danger and evil."

Part 6: What weapon is the Satan afraid of?

"The best and most powerful weapon of a mu'min which the Satan is in constant fear is the remembrance of God, therefore, he is always trying to cause the mu'min to forget God's remembrance, so that he may attack him (58:19).

The tawili wisdom of this verse is that the Name of God and His remembrance are the Imam of the time, who is the fountainhead of all physical and spiritual forces of mu'mins. Therefore, the physical and spiritual devils (6:112) always chase those mu'mins who are weak in faith and knowledge, to cause them to loosen their grip of the blessed hem of the pure and holy Imam.

This the greatest weapon of spirituality and knowledge of a mu'min and this is the tawil of forgetting the remembrance of God, because of the Satan."
