| A'uzu billahi minashaitanir rajim |
I seek refuge in Allah from the outcast Satan |
| Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim |
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful |
Sabbihisma Rabbikal-'A-laa;
Praise the name of thy Lord the Most High,
Allazii khalaqa fasawwa;
Who createth, then disposeth;
Waallazii qaddara fahadaa;
Who measureth, then guideth;
Waallazii 'akhrajal-mar-'aa,
Who bringeth forth the pasturage,
Fa-ja-'alahuu gusaaa-an 'ahwaa.
Then turneth it to russet stubble.
Sanuqri-uka falaa tansaaa,
We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget
'Illaa maa shaaa-'allahu: 'inna-Huu ya'-lamul-jahra wa maa yakhfaa.
Save that which Allah willeth. Lo! He knoweth the disclosed and that which still is hidden;
Wa nuyassiruka lil-Yusra.
And We shall ease thy way unto the state of ease.
Fa-zakkir 'in-nafa-'atiz-zikra.
Therefore remind (men), for of use is the reminder.
Sa-yazzakkaru many-yakhshaa:
He will heed who feareth,
Wa yatajanna-buhal-'ash-qaa,
But the most hapless will flout it,
'Allazii yaslan-Naaral-kubraa,
He who will be flung to the great Fire
Summa laa yamuutu fiiha wa laa yahya.
herein he will neither die nor live.
Qad 'aflaha man-tazakkaa.
He is successful who groweth,
Wa zakarasma Rabbihii fasallaa.
And remembereth the name of his Lord, so prayeth,
Bal tu'-siruunal-hayaatad-dunyaa;
But ye prefer the life of the world
Wal-'Aakhiratu khayrunw-wa 'abqaa.
Although the Hereafter is better and more lasting.
'Inna haazaa lafis-Suhufil-'uulaa --
Lo! This is in the former scrolls.
