Ya Ali Madad! The Holy Ginans are a rich heritage of Shia Imami Nizari Ismaili Muslims. The word ginan is derived from the jnana, a Sanskrit word generally defined to mean contemplative or meditative knowledge. The ginans were written in verse form and recorded in several Indian languages and constitute a markedly Nizari (after Imam Nizar) and mystical (esoteric) vision of Islam. The ginans are also an esoteric interpretation of the Holy Quran, and are meant to be sung and recited with a melody.
The recitation of 500 verses of Anant Akhado over 40-days and 90 verses of Anant Naa Nav Chhuga over 9 days started this evening, Chandraat, October 26, and will end on Salgirah Khushiyali, December 13, 2003, inshallah. This 49-day project will include the whole of month of Ramadhan. On this first evening of Holy Ramadhan, the first 12 verses were recited in our Jamatkhanas. A sample verse and its literal transliteration is presented below.

Ya Ali Madad! Today is the fourth fast of Holy Ramadhan. On the fifth night of Holy Ramadhan, we will be reciting verses 51 to 62 of Anant Akhado. The hyperlink given below will lead you to all the verses and their literal meaning for this evening's recitation. Also, I am highlighting the 9th and the 10th Divine name in this posting.
The gist of verse 51 is: When the Holy Imam, Sri Islam Shah, placed the turban on the head of Pir Hasan Kabirdin, he was given a spiritual vision (ruhaniyat) and an intellectual understanding (nooraniyat) of the heavens, the earth and the underground. There is mention of seeing small and large ants in the third line of this verse. In Arabic, the word 'Dharr' is the name of an extremely tiny red ant. During this great resurrection of the Holy Pir, he saw Alam-i Dharr (The world of spiritual particles), i.e., he saw the whole creation from the prespective of Soul and Light (Noor), the highest form of intellect. This vision is the hallmark of this great Pir who always supplicates for the salvation of countless millions of souls. For example, the verse 219 which begins with the verse "hinâ khinâ sarvê jiv tamârâ".
Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah (a.s.) has defined Alam-Dharr as the place of our origin and has exhorted us to return the soul to its original place in one of his Baitul Khyal firmans.
Âshâji |
